My 21st Birthday!!!

Woot woot! I finally made it to the big 2-1! It doesn't really matter here obviously but back home it is a huge deal. And I have plenty of American friends here so of course they were keen to help me celebrate it! Tuesday night, I had some friends over and we hung out and had a few drinks down in my common room. I bought a new dress to wear out and my friend Megan also bought me a furry, light up 21 crown which I was pretty stoked about haha. We then took the bus into town to go to a few clubs. Being Tuesday meant that it was “cheap Tuesday”, where basic drinks are $2.50 all night. So of course, all my lovely friends are handing me drinks left and right. We spend most of the night at Consortium and at midnight after the countdown was over, I was on a mission to call my Daddy and let him know I was 21. Apparently he was in a meeting, but loved my messages! After consort we went to Mad Cow and The Bank for a bit, but I don’t really remember much of the last two…

But hey, all in all:
1. I did not puke
2. I did not end up in the Townsville Hospital
3. I got home safely in a taxi
4. And I made it to 21 without getting a underage!

Wednesday, my actual birthday, I was not feeling the greatest but had a hair appointment at 1:30pm. I figured getting my hair done was a good birthday present for myself. So I got a full head of blonde highlights along with some little auburn highlights as well to mix it up a little bit. It ended up taking like 3 hours but I was really happy with it. Megan, being the good friend that she is, sat there the whole time with me as well. After my hair appointment, I got a boost juice and got on a bus towards the city to GO SEE MY MOM! I was so excited! She was staying at the Holiday Inn and had just got in earlier that afternoon.  This was also the first day in almost a month that the sun was out and shining! I guess my mum brought the good weather! So Megan and I went to visit her for a bit and went for a walk. Then we had to head back to the uni because I was supposed to get dressed up and go out to dinner with a few friends. I felt bad leaving her already and afterwards which I would of just had her come with because being as most of my friends were real busy with uni work before Easter break, it only ended up being me and a few girls. But, I would be back with her the next day to begin our travels! So, we got dressed up and headed to Palmer Street to go to dinner. We went to Bistro1 and had pasta which was really good. There was another group there celebrating a birthday and they ended up sending some drinks over to help us celebrate. I was not quite ready to be drinking again but it was a really nice gesture! Then I got cheesecake for dessert and our waiter got on his knee and sang happy birthday to me which was a little awkward, especially since he came back again with another waiter to sing once more.. haha
It was a pretty good birthday, I am in Australia! But yet I did wish I was able to be with all of my friends and family from home for my birthday. I wish they could have all flew in for the day
